Abstract:
The study explores the dynamics of women entrepreneurship in the Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh, India, focusing on the barriers and drivers impacting their business journeys. Through a survey of 281 women entrepreneurs engaged in manufacturing and trading, the research identifies key challenges such as limited access to finance, inadequate market information, and social constraints. The study also highlights the role of family support, personal motivation, and the local entrepreneurial ecosystem as significant drivers of success. Data was collected through standardized questionnaires and interviews, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods. The findings reveal a rise in women-owned businesses, particularly since 2010, and underscore the critical need for policy interventions and support systems to enhance women's economic empowerment in the region. This research provides valuable insights into the socio-economic conditions affecting women entrepreneurs and suggests strategies for overcoming obstacles, thus contributing to the broader discourse on gender and entrepreneurship in India.
