Abstract:
Abstract - In order to help with fleet management, vehicle security, and safety, this article proposes a system that effectively and efficiently delivers an application of the Internet of things in transportation. Only until technology is accessible to all social classes will it succeed. This paper presents a vehicle monitoring and anti-theft system that uses solely GSM-GPS and open source technology, making it the least expensive system for fleet management, safety, and security when compared to the many pricey GPS tracking systems now on the market. When the owner is not using the car, the system looks for changes in the GPS coordinates of the vehicle. The owner receives a text message when the vehicle's location changes. The text message includes the vehicle's current GPS location as well as a warning. The owner then sends an SMS telling the microcontroller to switch the vehicle's battery's relay supply in order to turn the car off. This system's enviable benefit is that, in addition to being the least expensive option for an anti-theft system, it allows the owner follow the car more quickly and with less complexity than other systems.
